Governor Gear unlocks at Town Center 22 and boosts your entire army — not just one hero. Here's the priority order, tier system, set bonuses, and event timing that keep you from burning permanent materials on the wrong piece.
Governor Gear vs Hero Gear
They look similar and confuse a lot of players. They're different systems on different material tracks — you run both in parallel, not one instead of the other.

Rally joiners: when you join someone else's rally, the rally leader's Governor Gear applies to the squad — not yours. Your gear still matters for solo marches, garrison, and rallies you lead.
Crafting & upgrade materials
- Satin Threads — daily quests, events, Alliance Store. Your steady, reliable income.
- Gilded Threads — mainly Kingdom of Power (KvK), elite quests, milestone events. Rare — spend during Hall of Governors.
- Artisan's Vision — required from Blue 2★. Start collecting before you hit mid-Blue.

Tier & star progression
Governor Gear doesn't use a flat Level 1–100 XP bar. It progresses through a tier + star system: Green → Blue → Purple → Purple T1 → Gold → Gold T1–T3 → Red → Red T1–T4, with 0–3 stars at each tier.

3-piece & 6-piece set bonuses
- 3-piece: any 3 of 6 pieces at the same tier activates a Defence bonus.
- 6-piece: all 6 pieces at the same tier adds an Attack bonus on top.
- Star levels can vary — only the tier needs to match. If one piece drops a tier behind, you lose the 6-piece bonus until it catches up.
Priority order

Lethality and Health come from Governor Charms, not gear.
Hall of Governors timing
Before
Stockpile Satin + Gilded Threads for 1–2 weeks. Pre-calculate the tier breakpoint you want to hit.
During
Spend saved materials. Every upgrade earns event points toward milestone rewards.
After
Resume daily Alliance Store buys. Start hoarding again 1–2 weeks before the next HoG.
Double-dip: when Hall of Governors overlaps with Strongest Governor or a similar event, your materials produce triple value.
What NOT to do
- ✕Maxing one troop type while ignoring the others — that's an exploitable weakness in KvK.
- ✕Spending Gilded Threads outside Hall of Governors — you lose the double-dip value.
- ✕Treating Governor Gear like Hero Gear — it's army-wide and always active.
- ✕Expecting your gear to power a rally you joined — the rally leader's gear applies to the squad.
- ✕Skipping daily Alliance Store — Satin Threads are your most consistent income.
FAQ
- Can I transfer Governor Gear upgrades between troop types?
- No. There's no Enhancement system for Governor Gear. Every upgrade is permanent, which is why the priority order matters so much.
- Does Governor Gear affect Arena and Expedition?
- Community testing suggests Governor Gear and Charms do not apply in Arena or Conquest battles. They do apply in open-world combat: Bear Hunt, Castle Battle, open field PvP, and solo marches.
- What's the max level?
- Governor Gear uses a tier + star system (Green → Red T4, 0–3 stars per tier), not a flat level cap.
- Is it worth buying in packs?
- Gilded Thread packs can be worth it timed with Hall of Governors. Satin Thread packs usually aren't — daily Alliance Store gives a free steady supply.
